There are 11 documents in this collection, most of which are certificates or more formal documents. The documents span 1842-1907 and were written in Germany, Austria, and the US. Only two of the letters in this collection were written in the United States, and both outside of Wisconsin (during the Civil War). However, these documents are valuable as a collection because they shed light on communities in Sauk Co., WI.

Letters listed in bold are in German, others are in English. Some letters listed in the indexes are not used in analysis; all excluded from analysis are noted. For more transcription conventions go here.
